beer for people who love beer with people

a dream 10 years in the making

Endswell Beer is an independent, small-scale brewery and tap room in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada dedicated to nurturing slow vibes and meaningful conversations with great beer.

Where people come to gather, celebrate, get to know one another and the process of making and tasting fresh, locally sourced, rotating selections of hand-crafted beers – no BS, pretentiousness, or small talk.

Co-owners and partners in life and business, Dana Kaluzny and Mike Noonan met while working at a brewery, fell in love and were eventually married in a brewery.

We apply over 20 years of combined experiences in the craft beverage industry, and travelling across North America to research and intentionally develop a business model on our own terms - with integrity and value to our family and the community we serve.

FAQs

  • Patience is a virtue and one of our main values. Good things take time. Thank YOU for being on this journey to opening with us. We are working hard to have our PUBLIC OPENING: THANKSGIVER! Mark your calendars for October 12-13. More details will be shared soon,

  • Whew! Our name has become an affirmation that it will all be worth it. We’ve been through a four-year process that included major challenges:

    • Finding a location within the Town of Collingwood's outdated bylaw on the definition of "brewery" that restricted available properties – eventually making concessions to be a “restaurant with accessory brewery” that limits the size of the brewery to 25% of the gross floor area.

    • Before being allowed a building permit, being put through Site Plan Control, a process by the Planning Department that treats Endswell as a “developer” of the entire property. Despite the fact that we are a small business and a tenant of one building on a multi-building, mixed use property we don’t own.

    • Before we received a building permit, we spent 1.5 years in a Planning process that cost almost a 25% of our raised capital, 8 formal Site Plan Submissions, 2 Council presentations, and paying rent without income. This includes the requirement of paying the Town to install a fire hydrant.

BUT! Throughout it all, Endswell has continued to persevere and remain an independent business with a dedicated vision.

  • We make fresh, small-batch rotating selections of hand-crafted ales and lagers that are available to drink in our tap room and to buy to-go.

    • Low alcohol beer – most beers will be 5% ABV and under.

    • Familiar approach to beer styles, like lagers and English ales with Endswell’s twist.

    • Fun and engaging ways of drinking and learning about beer in our tap room – lagers pulled through traditional Czech taps, cask ales, large pitchers and small tasting servings of beers that you can enjoy with friends and family.

    • Brewery tours and private tasting events.
